I'm in a war to liberate an empire (Empire A) from vassalage (secret fealty, yea they will still be vassals afterwards but my vassals - which is something completly different) The enemy also has another vassal (Empire B), who was part of this war in the beginning - fighting me and my ally - and than left the war. I conquer half the rival's empire because the federation conquers the other half. With my non-specialist vassals I can choose between vassal, tributary and specialist vassal, but when the vassal starts with a specialization the only option I get is to switch them to another specialization. I am the strongest empire so it isn't a secret fealty and they have no mercs or ships of any kind #2. Secret Fealty Does Not Like Subject Type. I have tried 3 games now for this achievement and can never get an empire to rival the strength of the one i make my overlord even if they are weak something happens to empires around them causing them to lose strength like wars or my overlord takes a 2nd vassal so no can ever beat them. Edit: As another commenter mentioned, you can also declare a subjugation war on the overlord and gain everybody.
